Golden Turmeric Milk

This drink is spicy, sweet, and savory all at the same time! I've always wanted to try this recipe - so I finally did. I love the taste and I love that I'm promoting my gut health right away in the morning. Benefits of golden milk: reduce inflammation and joint pain, improve brain function and memory, prevent heart disease, tummy soother, and it can even improve your mood:) Give it a try!



Ingredients:

2 cups dairy free milk of choice (I used almond milk, but coconut milk would work beautifully)

11/2 tsp ground turmeric

1 pinch of ground black pepper

1 tsp cinnamon

2 tbsp sweetener of choice (I used natural maple syrup)

a quarter size chunk of fresh ginger root (grated or pressed)

1/4 tsp anise extract (optional - purely for depth of flavor)








Directions:

In saucepan over medium/low heat, add almond milk with all the ingredients. Simmer and mix often for at least 10 minutes to ensure all flavors are released and mixed. Serve hot (delicious) or over ice (also delicious). Enjoy:)
